. . . .
Mother's Day came early for me.
Last night I got to hang out with some of the 8-11 year old girls from church [as I do every two weeks].
I knew what we'd be doing.
Making a gift for their Mom's for Mother's Day.
So, I knew ahead of time, I'd be the recipient of some awesome & soothing [homemade] bath scrub. [thank you, pinterest]
But what I didn't know . . . . . .
was
what
was
going
to
be
written
in
that
card.
Yes, I'm posting it [the inside].
1. because it brought me to instant tears.
2. I love 11. I LOVE eleven.
3. There will probably be days that she [conveniently] won't remember she wrote this.
4. I need evidence.
5. Because being a "mom" means everything to me. everything.
uggggg.
I'm crying again.
Can you guess my most favorite line?

precious!
my wife's 18 yo son does stuff like this. his goal every b-day and mother's day is to make her cry before she finishes reading the card. since i've known him (9 years), he's done it every time.

I wanna squish that Peanut! You are such an amazing mom Emz, keep it up, you are raising a good one :)
YATBM! She's adorable and you're amazing!
One sweet girl you have there! Happy early Mother's Day!
You truly have an amazing daughter!!
love it!
if I had a daughter my favorite line would be the last green one
I feel comfortable around you.
it says TRUST to me. that is huge from an 11 yrs old girl.
I cannot say I could have said the same at 11.
"I feel comfortable around you" has got to be the jackpot of all things a child could say!!!
She's the best! And clearly, you are too (but I already knew that!).
Happy mother's day to you.
I agree with everyone else - last line! What a dweet daughter! She must have a great mom ;-)
This is awesome!! I absolutely love how close the two of you are. :) :) :)
Love! I think this is the first time I have ever commented here, but honestly, love your peanut posts. I have always been TERRIFIED of having a daughter, and now I have one...she's 4 years old, is the light of my life, and I pray with every fiber of my being that our sweet relationship will continue as she ages. The stories that I get from other mothers is that it's about impossible when she gets older, she'll fight with me more than not, and that makes me sad. :( Your blog gives me hope that there ARE exceptions to the ol' "daughters hating their mothers" rule. :)
What a sweet card! I love hand-written messages, especially from the kids!
so sweet! You are setting such an incredible example for your little one! I am always so moved how you amazing moms out there manage to be 100% there for your kids and families and still find the time and strength to be incredible athletes! Thank you for being such an awesome role model!
you are the best mom! well deserved and hugs to your precious family!!
